vjmPhotography was created out of a love of photography that we both share (although we have trouble sharing the camera, so we had to get more than one!)

For Vicky, photography has always been a part of life, as the daughter of a professional photographer in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. She began photographing weddings at age nine, when her mother took her along to a wedding, gave her a camera, and let her shoot by her side. The wedding couple purchased quite a few of Vicky's photos, and even gave her a tip (her first paying job!).

For Jim, a serious interest in photography began during a stint in the U.S. Army, where he found both the money for equipment and a willing teacher to get him started. What a deal - a new Nikon body, a couple of lenses, and a fully stocked photography studio compliments of Uncle Sam!

We developed a renewed interest in professional photography with the advent of digital SLR cameras. The combination of amazing low-light performance and endless possibilities in post-processing had us hooked, and we have not looked back since!

No matter what the subject....weddings, portraits, performing arts, nature...we strive to capture the beauty and emotion of the moment. We want you to look at the images we create, and feel good about life.
